slow growing zucchini and squash

by Bill Grant
(Winnipeg, manitoba, Canada )

my zucchini and yellow squash have 2 - 4 inch fruit, but it has been so cold and wet (Winnipeg, Manitoba) We have had a horrible spring, early summer so far. Are my fruit growing slowly because of the weather? Also This is the first time I have grown Squash and Zucchini, I have grey and white spots on lots of leaves, would that be mold? I just started spraying milk on the leaves..............will that help

Have just answered a similar question here. Wish there was a photo to help here too!!
Cold weather would definitely affect these summer vines, and the wet would encourage mildew, which is probably what are the grey spots on the leaves. Milk sometimes works but it might be too late by now. Diluted bi-carb is effective against fungal attacks like mildew also. Good luck and hope you got some produce in the end.
